Forbes Life

With a name like ForbesLife - and the Forbes-caliber content to back it up - you can almost smell the revenue potential. Sponsored slideshow galleries, tasteful display ads, and less-tasteful roadblocks are the commercial engines of this new product by Forbes. The well-considered UX and social media program draws readers into the larger "Inside Forbes" content, as does the clever roll-over expansion revealing the authors' recent blog posts and other work. Anything so new will have a few wrinkles, and Forbeslife is no exception. But overall, this is a great presentation of photos, stories, and social content. A big plus for Forbes.

Using a good mix of sponsored content and traditional ads, ForbesLife brings more than enough firepower to drive revenue. It's not a coincidence this one landed so highly on our top 10.

For as well as this product does in delivering the potential for high revenue, it just does as much to satisfy users looking for high-quality content. It serves as a one-stop shop for users seeking unique, specialized content in the areas they find interesting, and takes the appropriate measures to keep them on the site once they've arrived. 


 

User Experience: 8

Simple and intuitive, the design here only serves to enhance an already strong effort. With click-through and related-content options smartly displayed, users can spend hours on the site, surfing the content. We'd recommend an infinite scroll when content becomes more robust, but this is a great start.
